Multiple Fires Continue To Burn In Northern California
The Flat fire, which started around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, north of the town of Gold Run, forced the closure of Haul Rd/Secret Town Rd, and Main St/Diggins Hill Rd in Dutch Flat and caused the Nevada County Sheriff to issue an evacuation warning for at least one zone. The fire is currently 22 acres and 60% contained.
The Gann Fire in Valley Springs has been mapped at more than 10,000 acres. 22 structures have been destroyed, some of them homes, and 4 zones remain under evacuation orders. At least one person has died. As of this morning, CalFire is calling it 78% contained. Firefighters will continue mop up and suppression repairs today, no fire growth is anticipated.
The Bug Fire started around 4 p.m. on Saturday South of Bringman Road in Lassen County, east of US 395. It's burning about 30 miles north-east of Truckee and has reached more than 15,000 acres as of this morning.
