There Are Options For Thanksgiving
A free Thanksgiving Community Meal will take place from noon to 2pm in Auburn at the Gold County Fairgrounds on Thanksgiving day. The North San Juan Community Center will offer dinner with turkey and all the fixings from 4 to 7pm on the ridge. In Nevada City the 3rd annual free Vegan Thanksgiving Community Potluck will happen at the Seaman’s Lodge from 3 to 6pm -- bring your own plates, utensils, and drinks, and if you can, a vegan dish to share.
There are options for home cooks as well. The Interfaith Food Ministry is also offering all the ingredients needed for a Thanksgiving meal. You can make a reservation online or by phone if you’d like to pick up before 11am, otherwise it’s first-come-first-served. Interfaithfoodministry.org or 530-273-8132.
And the Food Bank of Nevada County is offering free Thanksgiving meals to go. You can reach them at foodbankofnc.org or by phone at 530-272 3796.
